It looks like the real criminals are finally showing their faces. My head feels so much clearer now. As though.. it's strange to think about. But now that that pathetic angel has his body, he isn't posessing me, yet I know he's done something. I have to act fast, before this affects my body completely.

This feels like back then. Revealing things, killing them just instantly the way L exposed himself to me when we first met.. it would make it too easy. Too easy, too simple to incriminate. And I've been shamed enough to know.

Anyone found assisting or aiding the murderer and torturer Aizen Sousuke and Ichimaru Gin will be tried by the hand of law. You are in Vertere. There is no place you can run.

But if you want us to chase, why abuse the hand of Creation? That power is not the power I seek. No. My power shall come from me. You can die here, you can die at the hands of creation, you can 'die' as a person by becoming a 'beast'. But you cannot escape here.

If these harassments of the people of Vertere continue, we will execute you apon sight. Citizens who are capable of doing so, as long as their own lives are not risked, are allowed to apprehend them. But these men are considered dangerous and dealing with them is at your own risk.

[ooc; The Jury has decided- they are present in the court, and comprise of higher angels, and after discussing amongst themselves, are giving the verdict. Continuation of the previous post, done in the same comment-ooc-style. The Jury and Raito are different groups. x3]

Jury;

After weighing all of the evidence over the past 24 hours, we the jury have come to find the defendant Reeve Tuesti guilty as charged in breaking Laws II, III and V of Vertere. This also includes possible plotting of an uprising, disobeying and trying to shed a negative light on the authorities, as well as blackmail and threatning harm to the innocents by giving rise to an anarchist movement.

We the jury, by unanimous vote, determine that a immediate sentence of death shall be imposed without appeal.

A death sentence in the city of Vertere is akin to a life imprisonment term. Laws, as laws, are made to be obeyed, and breaking them will have their respective consequences.

Avatar of Punishment, Sephiroth, will be responsible for performing the sentence, which will be completed in public execution tomorrow at dawn.

They're making it too easy, it's almost sad. It's a wonder what religious zealotry and careful words will do. I wasn't expecting all of this to come out.

Oh, and from the starting date to the continuation, the trial shall run for 3-4 days in real life but will be counted as 1 day ICly because there's a lot to write and do and not everyone is online at the same time. So the characters that are here.. will be here until the trial ends. If it takes too long, we'll mention it ahead so we can break our characters free!]




To all gathering in the court for the trial today, welcome. As this is the first trial to be held in Vertere, the interested parties who have offered support will be present as the acting jury and the Police Force will be supporting aid and making sure of the smooth running of this trial until the court system comes into place.

As you all know, I will be acting as the Judge in this trial. Being a practitioner of Law in my own country before I was brought here, there will be a certain protocol to be maintained. This is not the court of a single country, but of many different worlds brought together and this court will try it's best to accommodate all the requirements necessary for everyone not only in Vertere, but on Interim Earth.

A judge can't have a preferred outcome in any case.. and a judge certainly doesn't have a client. A judge's only obligation is to the rule of law.. In every case a judge has to do what a law requires. Good judges are always open to the possibility of changing their minds based on the next brief they read... or on the comment of a colleague. No person is too high to be above the law and no person too low to be beneath the law, and that everyone, rich and poor, should be entitled to equal treatment under the law. I assure you all, not only a fair trial for the people of Vertere, but for the defendant as well. I wish this a smooth and fair trial for all sides. May justice be reached.

Today's prosecution for this trial will be lead by Officer Ky Kiske.

Reeve Tuesti has stated that he will defend himself until and unless he is somehow incapable of doing so. In the event of which, Avatar of Warning Vincent Valentine is allowed to speak for him.

There will be a break, and the prosecution will also allow the invitation of witnesses. With all of this kept in mind, we will proceed.

Halloween. How convenient that people are falling to this strange trick of the city. I am far too busy to indulge in such a foolish pastime and perhaps that choice was a wise one.

No matter.. it appears this wont last for long. Though I fear Misa's selection if she chose to participate.

Now that we have the results of the pre-trial, I suppose I'll wait until this madness dies down, or we'll get nothing done. Especially when the force itself as well as certain Avatars have fallen victim to this.
